The Nightingale Bamford School
The Nightingale-Bamford School seeks an experienced fundraising professional to run its leadership giving program as part of the Office of Institutional Advancement. This position reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement and will work closely with Trustees, Head of School, campaign volunteers and faculty. The ability to build relationships with a broad constituency, to support volunteers’ solicitation efforts, and to make five- to seven figure solicitations are required. Candidates must possess the highest ethical standards, excellent organizational and communication skills, experience in soliciting major and principal gifts, and a commitment to girls’ education. Founded by two bold, visionary entrepreneurs in 1920–the same year that women won the right to vote–The Nightingale-Bamford School gives girls from diverse backgrounds a rigorous college preparatory education. The school is widely recognized as one of the top girls’ schools in the country. There are currently 604 students enrolled in the school (Lower School 224; Middle School 195 and Upper School 185). Average class size is 12, student to faculty ratio: 6:1, and $4.1million of aid was awarded this past year. The school is located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, in the Carnegie Hill neighborhood, near many museums and Central Park. Eighty full-time faculty members teach in the technologically advanced schoolhouse. The annual operating budget for the school is $28 million. The school’s endowment is currently valued at $73 million.
