Advancement Associate
The Nightingale-Bamford School

The Nightingale-Bamford School is seeking candidates for the position of advancement associate to provide administrative support for the advancement team with particular focus on the annual fund, donor and alumnae relations. The advancement associate will report to the director of institutional advancement and will support the department’s work in three primary areas (alumnae relations, annual fund and the school’s upcoming centennial). An integral member of the advancement team, the advancement associate will work collaboratively with other members of the advancement team and the communications team as well as other faculty and staff of Nightingale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support volunteer management efforts for the given area by preparing training materials, class lists, class agent reports and assignment lists, and responding to specific volunteer requests
  • Track and record activity of directors, enter contact reports and other constituent data,
  • Conduct prospect research as needed, search for lost alumnae, create donor profiles, utilizing Wealth Engine where appropriate
  • Manage volunteer and staff solicitor assignments for the annual fund in Raiser’s Edge
  • Utilizing the Events module in Raiser’s Edge, support events, record and monitor RSVPs, prepare nametags, help with event set-up and breakdown
  • Create Raiser’s Edge reports, queries, and exports as needed
  • Participate in the creation of the Annual Report
  • Occasional event support is required on evenings and weekends
  • Serve as liaison to Head of School’s office for scheduling advancement activities on the head’s calendar

Requirements:

  •  A bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years of professional experience, preferably in non profit/educational fundraising
  • Raiser’s Edge database experience
  • Excellent attention to detail, professional attitude, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Superb communication skills (oral and written)
  • Familiarity with independent schools
  • Ability to interact with a range of constituents (alumnae, parents, faculty, students) and maintain professional demeanor and decorum
  • Willingness to join a high-functioning and collaborative team that serves a wide variety of roles on behalf of Nightingale
  • High level of initiative, proven ability to work independently, good time-management skills, and ability to work within tight deadlines
