Director of Major Gifts & Centennial Program

The Nightingale Bamford School

The Nightingale-Bamford School seeks an experienced fundraising professional to run its major gifts program and to serve as the coordinator of the upcoming Centennial Celebration. This position reports directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement and works closely with all constituents of the school; trustees, head of school, volunteers, alumnae, parents of alumnae, grandparents, and faculty. The ability to build relationships, manage a portfolio of major donors and making six- to seven-figure solicitations is required. The school is embarking on a number of important initiatives that require this position to be a transitional one after which the role will be primarily major gifts. This position is an evolutionary one; initially serving as the manager of the Centennial program, then working closely on the feasibility study, and eventually working full time with major gifts prospects for the School. This position will play a key role and assist in developing the goals and plans for the Centennial and all programming leading up to the celebration during the academic year 2019-2020. The responsibilities and opportunities will include outreach to both internal and external constituents as well as administrative functions, volunteer support and coordination of Centennial programs and activities.

The school is located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, in the Carnegie Hill neighborhood, near many museums and Central Park. Eighty full-time faculty members teach in the technologically advanced school house. Nearly all graduates attend four-year, “highly selective” colleges and universities. http://www.nightingale.org
