The Nightingale-Bamford School is seeking a school nurse to work 4 days per week during the academic year in partnership with our school nurses to support the needs of students and in a K-12 independent school setting. This is an 80% role with benefits.
The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of best practices and will comply with established procedures and protocols in caring for students with chronic and acute illness, as well as injuries and illnesses that arise during the school day. In addition, the nurse will communicate as needed with families, administrative staff, school counselors, athletic trainers, and fellow school nurses.
The hours of this position will be 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM or from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a 0.80, 11 month, exempt position. The part time school nurse is expected to work during the school year starting mid-August August though the end of June. The start date for this position will be August 1, 2024. This position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $90,000- $100,000. Nightingale considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

There are currently 710 students enrolled in the school. Average class size is 12, student to faculty ratio is 6:1. The school is located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan near many museums and Central Park. Students come from throughout New York City, Westchester, and New Jersey.
