Lower School Art Teacher, Leave Replacement
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
The Nightingale-Bamford School is seeking a full-time art teacher leave replacement for the Fall Semester of the 2026-2027 academic year. This instructor will teach primarily in grades K-4 and should have experience teaching all forms of elementary art education.
The candidate must possess experience working with a variety of visual arts materials and processes. This is a full time, temporary exempt position that starts officially on August 31, 2026 through the end of the first semester and reports to the Chair of the Art Department and the Lower School Division Head.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, MFA preferred
- Three to five years classroom experience teaching art in elementary grades (K-4)
- A passion for fostering creative expression and championing the artistic endeavors of all students
- Ability to work collaboratively with their department and other members of the community to regularly review and revise curriculum and teaching practices

- Must demonstrate cultural competence
- Excellent attention to detail, professional attitude, good judgment, a high level of integrity, and a strong work ethic

- Appreciation of the sense of joy inherent in a Lower School setting.
SALARY RANGE:
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for a full time position for this role is $75,000 - $105,000. Please note the actual salary for this assignment will be prorated to reflect the time worked. Nightingale considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
